Before we take our deep dive into the big update, there are few things you need to know before we get started… Thank You for Your Feedback!

We’ve been listening to everything you have been saying about what you need for the plugin to work for your business. With your feedback the entire backend of the plugin has been optimized for speed and optimization.

Everything has been documented to make sure you get a full understanding on how truly beneficial efficient  use of the plugin can be.

Just check out the Support Articles of the WordPress Plugin to read the technical details and how-to instructions for each part of the plugin.

Second: The Plugin is More Intuitive

After going through each part of the plugin and finding all the small cracks where some issues would pop up. Now every notice or error is shown to you with clear instructions for compatibility checks and much more.

Third: Let’s Get Into The New Features!

The entire user interface (UI) has been redesigned to provide faster access to your funnels and pages. Browsing all your ClickFunnels pages is much quicker. You will also be able to see the SEO meta data preview and even Facebook Open Graph preview and so much more.

Why save the best for last? Let’s start with the REALLY cool all-new features that will bring the full functionality of ClickFunnels right into your WordPress blog.

(Have you installed the plugin to your blog? It is 100% free to all CF users.)

These is an entirely new area inside the plugin called “Shortcodes” and here you will have access to three amazing shortcodes that you can paste into your blog posts, pages or sidebar!

Excited to learn more about the shortcodes? First, let’s go into detail about all the new updates to the UI, managing posts and setting up the plugin on your WordPress blog.

Easily Manage Your ClickFunnels Pages

[step text=’Clean and simple interface for fast access.’]

Image 2015-10-30 at 4.02.00 PM

The dashboard for all of your pages is now clean and optimized to give you all the information you need right away, without cluttering up the page.

Just like every feature to the new update everything has been re-coded to make sure you have the optimal experience while collecting leads and making sales using the plugin.

Image 2015-10-28 at 8.47.17 AM

With the new UI you can now quick get access to:

  • The page name and funnel
  • Quickly view the page
  • Open in the page editor
  • See the page type (Page, Home, 404 or ClickGate)

You can see the page name to edit with the funnel name for reference. Open the page to view or edit in the ClickFunnels page editor. At a glance you can see which pages are set to 405 page even the all-new feature ClickGate, which we will get into later on!

Want to make sure all your split tests and meta data is up to date in the WordPress plugin? Just use the “Cache Buster” button on the dashboard to check all your pages and give you easy access to update page.

Keep Your Meta Data Up-to-Date

[step text=’Preview your SEO and Facebook data!’]

Image 2015-10-30 at 4.00.25 PM

This one button will make sure that all your split tests are showing the latest updated content incase you haven’t updated your pages recently.

You will also be notified with a link to quickly update the meta date information if you recently changed the control pages meta or social data in the editor.

If you change the meta data inside your page (in the CF editor) then you can to bust the cache with this button this is required to update meta data correctly.

You ready for more awesome features? Let’s get into to actually adding some pages to our blog and start collecting email leads and selling our products using the power of your blog and ClickFunnels.

Add Fully Featured ClickFunnels Pages

[step text=’Everything you need at your finger tips!’]

Image 2015-10-28 at 9.10.05 AM

At a glance you can quickly see the important details of your pages and with the refined navigation that won’t get in your way. You can know right away within your blog how many split tests are running for your page.

See how many active split tests are running for that page.

After listening to your feedback these are just some of the suggestions. The plugin will now make sure your custom slug is unique does not overwrite any of your blog posts, pages or other CF pages.

Pretty cool, huh? Every detail of the plugin has been modified and has been tested by the helpful ClickFunnels support staff.

One big feature that has always come up is meta data preview, not only have we added the “Check  Meta Data” button for you we’ve gone ahead and provided preview information for both your SEO meta data and your open graph Facebook data.

See What Search Engines See

[step text=’SEO Meta Data Preview’]

Easily check the favicon (choose the one you are using in your funnel or default to your blogs favicon) and see all the meta data that is being saved and shown to search engines.

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.34.16 PM

If you edit the meta data inside your page make sure to come back and update it inside the plugin to stay up to date.

Preview Sharing on Facebook

[step text=’Open Graph / Facebook Data Preview’]

You could use the Facebook debugger to check your open graph data or you could simply check it one click using the plugin. You can see the social share image, the title, description and author.
Image 2015-10-30 at 5.35.58 PM

All of this is data you set inside the page editor outside of the plugin and this is just a quick reference to help you see what meta data is being displayed for your page.

This is the same with the tracking codes since there are so many ways to add tracking to a page we’ve made it simple for you to see what’s being added to the page.

Track Every Small Detail

[step text=’New – Add custom tracking code for only WordPress’]

Now you can see what tracking code, such Facebook pixels, Google analytics or any other type of javascript that is added to the page. With the new version you can now add a custom tracking code to test only your blog version.

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.36.57 PM

This will give you more flexibility when doing all the analytics on your marketing campaigns. You can also preview your page, view the funnel to see the stats of your page or open the page inside of the ClickFunnels editor.

Finally for adding new pages there are the settings options which give you some more flexibility in how you want to setup your ClickFunnels pages.

Setup Different Page Types

[step text=’Choose the perfect page type for your campaign’]

There are a few different page types that you can choose from:

  1. Regular Page
  2. Home Page
  3. 404 Page
  4. ClickGate – all new!

You can probably guess which one of those is all-new to version 2.0 — hint, it’s not number 1. However there have been numerous improvements on each page type that have already been tested on users blogs.

Image 2015-10-30 at 4.34.22 PM

You also have the option to show your page within an iframe. Which is only used if you have custom code on your page that is not working with the plugin. The only real case we have seen is EasyVideoSuite with one issue.

The original page URL is also visible on the settings page which is a reference to the page only. Only there to confirm that right page is being loaded.

Let’s go over the Home, 404 and ClickGate page types.

Setup a ClickFunnels Homepage

[step text=’Create a high converting homepage with the CF plugin’]

By choosing the home page option your page will be shown on the front page of your blog. It will take over any previously set options so it is easy to setup. We have tested this on multiple users blogs and works perfectly.

You can also setup a homepage and have your blog still work by making a blogs post page for example youdomain.com/blog

Only one home page can be set at any time. If you make two the previously set one will be disabled. If you forget which home page is set just check the Reading settings in your blog.

Image 2015-10-30 at 4.49.25 PM

It is very easy to see what page types are set and you can click the links to edit the pages immediately. Every part of the plugin has been designed to be informative and provide you with more power.

These next two page types are great examples of how the plugin can be used to turn your blog into a lead generating machine!

Collect Leads on Deleted Posts

[step text=’Start optimizing your WordPress blog’]

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.00.16 PM

Misspelled URLS or deleted posts can be redirect to a lead collecting optin page that is only a one click installation just choose the page you want a make the page type ‘Show as 404 Page’ to start optimizing your blog!

Do you really want to start collecting leads on your blog? Well one solution is using the all new ClickGate feature which will allow you to show a ClickPop for all users on all pages. This will cookie so it show only once.

Introducing… ClickGate

[step text=’Show a ClickPop to all visitors and collect leads’]

This will also cookie the user and make sure that this not annoying and providing only value to your blog visitors. Setting up a ClickGate can only be set once and can use any ClickFunnels page.

Image 2015-10-30 at 4.59.31 PM

However for the best results use a ClickPop page template to make your ClickGate be more effective and look like a normal optin popup. Here is an example of a ClickGate in action:

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.03.03 PM

Of course you could use the new ClickPop shortcode to do this for every page, but setting one ClickGate make the job so much easier and in only one click you can start collecting more leads on your blog right away!

You excited to learn more ways to use the plugin to grow your business? Well we have half way done so far and there is more to go.

Before we get into the new shortcodes (which are amazing) we should get back into the plugin settings with the compatibility check and easier to understand warnings and notifications.

Setup The Plugin Super Fast

[step text=’Easy notifications to quickly setup ClickFunnels WP Plugin’]

Just like every other part of the plugin there has been an over haul of how this part works too. Including some truly game-changing features that have been suggested by our users.

First let’s check out the compatibility check.

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.07.28 PM

Now it is even easier to see what is required and be notified when everything is working fine. We have included warnings that are not visible in the above screenshot. Such as turning Off Minify of JavaScript if you are using CloudFlare.

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.27.22 PM

If there is any error the plugin will popup and let you know what to do to fix it. However in the case you do need to stop using the plugin we have included a “Reset Plugin Data” to allow you to clean up your database of the pages and settings you created.

Reset Your Plugin Data

[step text=’Use only if you really need too…’]

Use this only if you want to delete all your pages and settings. This was a user suggested feature that will help others who may be moving to a new blog.

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.10.18 PM

Once you click the button to delete all pages you will see a confirmation and then will see the loading page which will go through all pages and delete them.

If you have a lot of pages it could take several seconds or up to 2 minutes to complete. There is a progress bar to update you on the progress.

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.12.16 PM

But why would you want to delete all your pages when we have an awesome agency user-requested feature that allows you to install the plugin on your clients websites?

Introducing the all-new agency feature for the version 2.0 launch allows you to tweak the controls of the plugin to show them only their funnels that you have created for them.

All-New: Advanced Agency Feature

[step text=’Best used by our very own ClickFunnels Certified Consultants’]

An example case for using this new feature (user requested in Support Desk) is for agencies / consultants who are using ClickFunnels to create funnels for clients and want to use the plugin.

You can now install the plugin onto your clients WordPress blogs and create a group tag, for example “New York Client #2” and put all their funnels in that group tag.

Choose the “Show Only Group Tag” to be the one you create for them and when your client goes to create a new page they will only see the funnels that they expect.

Image 2015-10-30 at 5.47.09 PM

To access the hidden feature for advanced users only you will need to replace to two parts below with your domain and authentication token.

http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=clickfunnels&page=cf_api&agency=your_auth_token

Yes, it is advanced and we do have documentation on how to do it. It is hidden so that you can provide hidden controls to the plugin. You can also choose to hide your API settings or even hide the plugin settings completely.

Image 2015-10-30 at 6.11.20 PM

With these features you can provide a seamless experience for your clients. As soon as your are done their funnel in ClickFunnels you put it inside their unique group tag and it is live in their blog to make their own urls and send traffic to it.

Pretty awesome! That was completely user suggested that turned into something that will help all of us who are using CF in unique ways to grow our business online.

Now that you have fully setup your blog to be optimized with the plugin you are not done yet. Even though you have multiple ClickFunnels pages, a home page setup, you are collect leads with your 404 page and ClickGate.

Still…

Not finished yet there is more ways that you can optimize your blog to generate even more leads and sales all with one plugin.

Let’s dive into the amazing world of shortcodes!

Do More With ClickFunnels Shortcodes

[step text=’Use your pages in new and creative ways’]

You now have access to 3 shortcodes that will dramatically boost the way you use the plugin on your blog. You can use the shortcodes that are generated for you in your blog posts or pages.

Image 2015-10-30 at 6.08.03 PM

And even on sidebar or footer! Anywhere that you can use a widget you can place one of these shortcodes. This will allow you to be creative and use ClickFunnels in all new ways.

Let’s check out the first shortcode that will allow you to embed your pages onto any blog post with a small line of code.

Embed ClickFunnels Pages

[step text=’Or any place that your theme allows for WordPress Widgets’]

You can now embed your pages inside your blog posts if you want to collect leads or heck, you can have your whole blog post be written as a ClickFunnels page!

Image 2015-10-30 at 7.17.59 PM

All you have to do is choose a funnel and a page then the shortcode is generated for you to paste anywhere you like. If you want to be creative; create a mobile sized optin page in ClickFunnels and embed it on your sidebar.

Boom, you have an awesome sidebar email optin box. (just a ClickFunnels page using Embed shortcode)

All the shortcodes will be limited by group tag if agency feature is set.

If that doesn’t get you excited than the next two shortcodes definitely will open your eyes to making marketing your blog even better.

All-New: ClickFunnels Widget

[step text=’Use your shortcodes in your sidebar or footer!’]

In every WordPress theme there are what are known as widgets that allow you to post lists, images and other things into your themes sidebar or footer.

The plugin includes a widget that allows you to have a headline and place to paste in the shortcode generated for you. If you are using the embed shortcode the headline may not be useful, however the ClickForm shortcode the headline is useful.

Image 2015-10-30 at 6.04.10 PM

You can add unlimited widgets to your blog, so you can have a ClickPop link in your sidebar and a ClickForm in your footer or both or anything you want to do! It’s all possible and made super easy.

Image 2015-10-30 at 6.40.06 PM

Check your theme for where you can put widgets so that you can get the best placement for the variety of shortcodes you have access too.

Let’s get into the ClickPop shortcode and then finally we will get into the ClickForm shortcode that will change how you collect leads with the ClickFunnels WordPress plugin.

ClickPop Integration (email optin popup)

[step text=’Easy to use inside of the WordPress text editor’]

You can now embed ClickPop into your blog posts or sidebar. It’s easier than ever. You could always do this, it’s just 10x faster to do now.

Just like the other shortcodes you start by selecting the Funnel and choosing a page to show (preferably a ClickPop page) and then select the settings to customize the shortcode to your needs.

Image 2015-10-30 at 6.01.38 PM

You can choose to show the ClickPop on mouse exit (when the users mouse leaves the browser) or show it on a timer for any amount of seconds.

In both cases you can leave the content blank and paste it on page or on your sidebar to show on all pages. However you should use ClickGate if you want to do that.

You can use any content within the WordPress text editor and turn it into in a ClickPop using the shortcode. See the screenshot below to see how easy it is to make a cool ClickPop link.

You can then show any type of page but generally looks better when you are using the ClickPop template category in ClickFunnels. Now let’s finally get into what is maybe the coolest new feature yet; ClickForms.

Holy, so many names beginning with ‘click’ — guess it’s because everything is so easy it only takes one click to make it all happen, just like magic!

Start collecting more email leads in your blog with the ClickForms shortcode.

All-New: ClickForms Shortcode

[step text=’One shortcode to collect leads immediately!’]

ClickForms is super cool and provides you with the basics that you need to collect leads: email input and submit button.

Since it is so simple you can add your own headlines and images in your blog posts. You can add this one shortcode to the bottom of all your blog posts to collect leads on auto-pilot.

The ClickForm shortcode combined with the numerous other features will make your blog truly a marketing powerhouse. Let’s get into how to setup and customize the ClickForm with your pages.

Click to Download Plugin Now

[step text=’Upgrade to v2.0 of ClickFunnels Plugin now’]

It is completely free to all ClickFunnels users and you can download it by searching for ‘clickfunnels’ when search for plugin inside your blog dashboard.

With over four thousand (4k+) active users we want to make sure everything is running the latest version and optimizing their blog to make even more money and collect even more email leads.

What Do You Think?

We’re excited to start using the new features here on the CF blog and we want to know how you are going to use them. Are you excited about the agency feature?

Don’t see the “Check Meta Data” button anywhere in the plug-in, even though it’s shown in this article. Is that feature live yet?

    • Brandon, the button to check Meta Data should be at the top where the title is.

The button is not required it just gives you a quick way to check if any of the meta data is out of date. This happens if you edit the meta data inside the editor and forget to re-save the page inside the WP plugin. To ensure correct data is passed to Facebook we save meta data to your blog database.
